Rams Tackle Alaric Jackson Wins Appeal, Suspension Reduced for Punching Bills' Bradley Chubb

Los Angeles Rams starting left tackle Alaric Jackson has successfully appealed his two-game suspension for punching Buffalo Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb. A hearing officer jointly appointed by the NFL and NFL Players Association reduced the suspension to one game.

Jackson will now miss Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Veteran David Quessenberry is expected to start at left tackle in his place.

The incident occurred near midfield following the Rams' 37-34 overtime loss to the Bills on Monday night. Jackson was exchanging jerseys with Bills defensive lineman Deone Walker when Chubb approached and exchanged words with Jackson. After Chubb placed his right hand on Jackson's face, Jackson responded with a right-handed punch to Chubb's face.

Chubb acknowledged initiating the verbal confrontation but denied reports of insulting Jackson's mother. "I said: ‘We’re gonna see y’all’s ass again. And when we see you again, all that chipping ain’t gonna save you,'" Chubb stated, referencing the blocking assistance Jackson received. Chubb added that Jackson questioned his comments before throwing the punch.

Rams head coach Sean McVay commented on the incident Tuesday, stating, "He has to make better decisions than that."

This marks Jackson's second NFL suspension, having previously served a two-game ban in 2024 for violating the league's personal conduct policy. He may also face an additional suspension related to a domestic violence arrest this offseason.
