Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson will not face criminal charges at this time following allegations of domestic violence involving his pregnant girlfriend. The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office has assigned the case for a City Attorney Hearing, a diversion program that serves as an alternative to misdemeanor prosecution.
According to Ivor Pine, a spokesperson for the City Attorney's Office, charges are not being filed against Jackson currently, but the case remains open. "It can be re-evaluated if there are further developments," Pine stated. The City Attorney's website describes the hearing as an informal proceeding aimed at developing alternative resolutions when prosecution may be inappropriate.
Jackson was arrested in early June on suspicion of assaulting his ex-girlfriend during a dispute at their West Hills residence. The woman had initially sought a restraining order against Jackson on June 10, alleging she was pregnant with his child. However, her attorney later requested the restraining order be dismissed, and the case was subsequently resolved.
This resolution is similar to that of Rams teammate Puka Nacua, who also received the same outcome earlier this year following an investigation into a biting incident. Jackson, who has been with the Rams since 2021, recently signed a $57 million contract extension with the team.
