Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson will not face criminal charges at this time after being arrested on suspicion of domestic battery in June. Prosecutors have opted not to file charges, but the case remains open.

Jackson was arrested on June 8 at his San Fernando Valley home following an alleged dispute with his girlfriend. Police were called to the residence amid claims the woman sustained "scratches and bruises." She also alleged that Jackson took her phone and keys, broke her headphones, and threw her food.

According to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, the matter has been assigned for a City Attorney Hearing. This is a pre-filing diversion program that serves as an alternative to misdemeanor criminal prosecution.

"Charges are not filed against the respondent at this time, however, the case stays open throughout the length of the statute of limitations," a spokesperson for the City Attorney's Office confirmed. "It can be re-evaluated if there are further developments."

The woman had previously sought a temporary restraining order against Jackson, but her attorney recently informed a judge that she wished to have it dissolved.

The NFL is also reviewing the situation to determine if Jackson violated the league's personal conduct policy, which could result in a suspension.

Jackson was drafted by the Rams in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Iowa and was part of the team that won Super Bowl LVI. He signed a three-year contract extension worth $56.3 million in the previous season.
