Rams Defend Sean McVay's Brief Postgame Presser After Broncos Loss

The Los Angeles Rams organization has pushed back against the narrative that head coach Sean McVay intentionally avoided media following the team's 30-26 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football. McVay's postgame press conference was notably brief, lasting less than two minutes and concluding shortly after members of the Los Angeles media arrived.

Nate Atkins of The Athletic posted on X (formerly Twitter) that McVay "ducked out of his press conference before Rams media could get into it, only 10 minutes after the final whistle," adding that he had "never seen that in this league before."

Rams Vice President of Communications Artis Twyman responded to Atkins' post, stating that media members were informed in the press box that they should leave at the five-minute mark to attend the postgame news conference. Twyman indicated that Atkins chose to stay until the end of the game, which made him late.

"Again Nathan, I will not let you get on here and not represent the truth," Twyman wrote on X. "In the press box, they announce that media that want to attend the post game news conference, leave at the five-minute mark. You chose to stay until the end of the game, which made you late."

Twyman further elaborated, asserting that McVay was already waiting and departed as Atkins was arriving. He questioned how long McVay should have waited, urging Atkins to "take some responsibility in the matter."

The intense nature of the game, which saw the Rams blow a 16-point halftime lead, and controversial officiating, including a pass interference call against Rams cornerback Josh Wallace that negated an interception, may have contributed to McVay's perceived short fuse following the defeat.
