Less than 24 hours after scoring two touchdowns in the Las Vegas Raiders' victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, wide receiver Cody White has reverted to the team's practice squad, according to the league's transaction wire.
White, who entered Sunday's game with one career touchdown, had a notable performance against the Chargers, including the go-ahead score in the third quarter. His efforts came after making his Raiders debut on special teams the previous week, a unit where he has previously carved out a role with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks.
Raiders coach Klint Kubiak acknowledged White's impact and enthusiasm following the win. "Well, shoot. I think that tells you all you need to know about Cody. He has fun at his job, he works really hard at it. People get it wrong sometimes. We don’t care about the graphics, we just care about producing," Kubiak said, referencing a graphic error made by CBS during White's first touchdown catch.
Despite the move back to the practice squad, White's contributions did not go unnoticed by his teammates. Defensive star Maxx Crosby praised White's energy and performance. "He comes in with great energy and works his ass off," Crosby said of White. "Then he comes in the first game, makes an incredible play on the sideline and then today, has two freakin’ touchdown catches. Big shoutout to him. He’s been incredible and he’s been helping us win games. He deserves all the credit."
