Raiders and Saints Set for Week 3 Showdown Amidst Surprising Early-Season Success
Both teams, who struggled last season, aim to continue their unexpected winning streaks as they face off in New Orleans.
The Las Vegas Raiders and New Orleans Saints, teams that combined for a 9-25 record last season, are set to clash in Week 3 of the 2026 NFL season, with both clubs entering the matchup with a surprising 3-1 record. The game is scheduled to take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on September 27, kicking off at 4:25 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on CBS.
Oddsmakers have positioned the Saints as three-point favorites in the contest. Raiders head coach Kellen Moore acknowledged the challenge posed by his opponents, stating in a press conference, "It’s going to be a fun challenge. These guys…won two games pretty decisively, in my opinion. Played really good football. And so it’s going to be a fun battle."
This Week 3 matchup could also mark the NFL debut of Francisco Mendoza, the No. 1 overall draft pick and 2025 Heisman Trophy winner. Mendoza has been inactive for the first two weeks of the season due to the strong play of the current starting quarterback, Kirk Cousins.
