Radio Presenter Embarks on Ambitious UK Cycle for Children in Need
BBC Radio 2 host Owain Wyn Evans will undertake a five-day, nearly 400-mile cycling challenge across all four UK nations for the annual charity fundraiser.
Owain Wyn Evans, host of BBC Radio 2's Early Breakfast Show, is set to cycle nearly 400 miles across all four United Kingdom nations to raise money for BBC Children in Need. The challenge, described by the BBC as the "greatest ever distance" covered in a Radio 2 endeavor for the charity, will begin in Glasgow and conclude in Cardiff.
The five-day event is scheduled to commence on Monday, November 9, and will wrap up on Friday, November 13, coinciding with the broadcast of the fundraiser. Alex Jones, host of The One Show and also from Wales, is the only other member of the 2026 TV fundraiser's hosting team revealed so far.
Evans, who hails from Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, acknowledged the demanding nature of the challenge. "When I said yes to this challenge, I knew it would push me well outside my comfort zone," he stated. "It's going to be tough, demanding and probably a little daunting at times, but I'm ready to give it absolutely everything I've got."
