Rachel Weisz Returns as Evelyn O'Connell in New 'The Mummy' Sequel

Rachel Weisz is set to reprise her role as the adventurous librarian and Egyptologist Evelyn O'Connell in a new installment of The Mummy film franchise. The 56-year-old actress was recently photographed filming scenes for the upcoming sequel in London, marking her return to the character that first catapulted her to global stardom 27 years ago.
Filming took place near the British Museum, where Weisz was seen dressed in period-appropriate attire, including a yellow polka-dot skirt, a brown cropped jacket, and a wide-brimmed hat. She was pictured holding a vintage leather briefcase and an old-fashioned transistor radio, embodying Evelyn's signature style.
This marks the first on-screen appearance for Weisz as Evelyn O'Connell since the 2001 film The Mummy Returns. She will be reunited with co-star Brendan Fraser, who played her on-screen husband Rick O'Connell. Fraser has expressed enthusiasm for his return to the role, describing it as "like being reconnected with an old friend."
Weisz, who is married to actor Daniel Craig, has two children: Henry, born in 2006 from her previous relationship with film-maker Darren Aronofsky, and a daughter, Grace, born in 2018 with Craig.
The new film, which has yet to be officially titled, is scheduled for release in October of next year. The resurrection of the popular franchise is expected to introduce the action-adventure series to a new generation of viewers.
