Robert Zuniga, 27, was arrested and charged on Friday with assault on a police officer, attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and harassment. The charges stem from an incident on September 6th at the NYCHA Ravenswood Houses in Queens.
Police said an officer, 29, was responding to a fight at the complex around 12:45 a.m. when Zuniga allegedly threw a glass bottle at the officer's head. The attack occurred as the officer was attempting to disperse a chaotic crowd.
The officer sustained a significant cut and required hospitalization following the assault. Zuniga, a resident of Astoria, was taken into custody by police.
