Dr. Hannah Cain, a 45-year-old physician who served as a doctor to Queen Camilla and other members of the British royal family, was found dead in her home on Sunday. Her husband, Mark Cain, has been arrested and charged with her murder, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

Police were called to the couple's home in Dersingham, England, on Sunday evening, where they discovered Dr. Cain deceased. According to reports, she suffered a “blunt force injury to the right side of her head” and had an injury “that could be suggestive of compression of the neck.” The incident occurred while the couple was hosting a sleepover for their three children.

The couple's home is located approximately one mile from the Sandringham Estate, the King's country residence. Officials have confirmed that the royal family has been informed of Dr. Cain's death.

Mark Cain, identified as an energy company director, has not yet entered a plea. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday. The motive for the alleged murder has not been released.

Dr. Cain worked at the Grimston Medical Centre in eastern England. Colleagues, patients, and locals have left flowers at the medical center and at her home to pay tribute to the physician. Julie-Ann Rayner, a clinical administrator who worked with Dr. Cain for several years, described her as an “amazing doctor and an amazing person, really wonderful, really warm-hearted” and noted that she “really cared about her family.” Rayner added that everyone at the practice is “completely shocked” and expressed concern for Dr. Cain's children.

Buckingham Palace has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident. Page Six has reached out to the palace for comment.
