Queen Camilla's Doctor Allegedly Murdered by Husband During Children's Sleepover

Prosecutors allege that Mark Cain, 45, murdered his wife, Dr. Hannah Cain, by striking her on the head with an ax and strangling her while their three children and two of their friends were present for a sleepover at their home in eastern England. Dr. Cain, who previously treated Queen Camilla, was found unresponsive in an upstairs bedroom early Sunday.

During a court hearing on Thursday, prosecutors stated that Mark Cain then contacted police to report a "suspected burglary" at their Dersingham property, which is located near the royal Sandringham Estate. He claimed to have had a "confrontation with an intruder," according to reports from the Eastern Daily Press.

The 45-year-old, described as emotionless during the hearing, reportedly told authorities that his wife was "upstairs asleep," a statement prosecutors claim was false as she was already deceased. Police discovered Dr. Cain in the bedroom, having sustained a "blunt force injury to the right side of her head" and injuries "suggestive of compression of the of the neck."

King Charles and Queen Camilla were informed of the doctor's death, sources told The Post. Dr. Cain had worked at the Grimston Medical Center for the past year and also ran a local cosmetic business called Norfolk Sky Aesthetics. A spokesperson for the medical center described her as an "exceptional doctor."

The motive for the alleged murder has not yet been revealed. Dr. Cain's family issued a statement expressing their devastation, calling her "kind, gorgeous and loving; a beloved mother, daughter, sister, auntie, daughter-in-law, and friend." Rev. Mark Capron, a parishioner, remembered her as a "well-loved and respected member of [the] community" with a "radiant" smile.

Mark Cain has been remanded in custody, and a pre-trial hearing is scheduled for December 3.
