Qatar Airways Tops List of Airlines for Best In-Flight Wi-Fi

Qatar Airways has been recognized as the airline offering the best Wi-Fi service, according to the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards. The rankings are based on a global survey of over 24.8 million travelers who evaluated more than 300 airlines between September 2025 and August 2026.

Qatar Airways secured the top spot, noted for its extensive Starlink-equipped widebody fleet, which allows millions of passengers to stay connected. The airline also received accolades for best business class, best airline in the Middle East, and best business class lounge.

Several United States-based airlines were also featured prominently in the top rankings for in-flight Wi-Fi. Delta Air Lines secured the second position, offering fast, free Wi-Fi powered by T-Mobile on nearly 1,200 aircraft, more than any other U.S. airline.

United Airlines placed third, providing high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi on most of its flights. The airline offers paid Wi-Fi options for MileagePlus members and other passengers on certain domestic and international routes. Alaska Airlines followed in fourth place, offering ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire network, enabling activities such as live gaming and high-quality streaming.

Budget carrier JetBlue Airways ranked fifth, noted as the first major U.S. airline to offer free, high-speed Wi-Fi at every seat on all of its aircraft. Hawaiian Airlines secured the sixth position with free, high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi powered by T-Mobile, a service rolled out in collaboration with Alaska Airlines.

Other airlines recognized in the top ten for Wi-Fi service include Singapore Airlines (seventh), Virgin Atlantic (eighth), EVA Air (ninth), and Emirates (tenth). Singapore Airlines was also named the World's Best Airline overall by Skytrax. Virgin Atlantic is in the process of rolling out free, high-speed Wi-Fi across its fleet, with full implementation expected by 2027. EVA Air offers in-flight Wi-Fi on select aircraft and is currently running a promotion for complimentary full-flight web browsing. Emirates provides some form of free connectivity for all passengers who sign up for Emirates Skywards, and it has consistently won awards for its inflight entertainment.
