Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is facing new off-field scrutiny as his ex-girlfriend, Hallie Aiono, has made claims of experiencing abuse. These allegations come as Nacua awaits a potential suspension verdict from the NFL and is also involved in a civil lawsuit for alleged assault and battery.
Aiono, who is the mother of Nacua's son, Kingston, shared her experiences in a TikTok video posted Sunday night. She stated, “I went from loving somebody so deeply for four years, I felt it in my bones, to experiencing extreme betrayal, abuse, complete neglect from them, in what felt like it happened almost overnight,” adding that private struggles were more impactful than public issues. "Those parts, what people never saw, or know of, are what broke me."
While Aiono did not detail specific allegations against Nacua in her video, her assertion of experiencing abuse is significant given the ongoing civil lawsuit against the Rams player. A woman named Madison Atiabi has sued Nacua, alleging assault, battery, gender violence, and negligence, including a claim that Nacua bit her shoulder on New Year's Eve.
The Rams are scheduled to open their season on September 10 in Australia against the 49ers, and Nacua's availability for the trip remains uncertain as the NFL considers its decision regarding any potential suspension.
