A diver captured an unusual underwater photograph when a pufferfish swam in front of her camera during a selfie attempt. The perfectly timed shot off the coast of Baja California, Mexico, created the illusion that the fish's head had merged with the photographer's body.

Sumire Kamiya, who was visiting the area from Okinawa, Japan, was taking underwater selfies surrounded by a group of pufferfish. During the photo session, one pufferfish swam directly between Kamiya's face and the camera.

"For a split second, the pufferfish lined up perfectly with my body, making it look as though I had suddenly turned into a pufferfish human," Kamiya said. She added that the moment was unplanned and made the resulting photograph even more amusing.

"I could hardly believe how perfectly the pufferfish's face sat right where my own should have been," she stated, noting that she only realized the comical alignment after reviewing the photo later.
