Psychiatrist Dr. Avram Mack testified on Monday that Lindsay Clancy was in a "serious psychiatric state" and "suffering" before she killed her three children, but maintained that she should be held criminally responsible for the slayings. Mack stated that Clancy knew her actions were wrong at the time.
Clancy's defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, is arguing for a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity, contending that Clancy was experiencing severe postpartum psychosis and hearing voices. However, Dr. Mack stated, "I didn’t find any evidence of psychosis in her record. She did not display psychotic features."
Dr. Mack further elaborated that he did not observe any indications of psychotic features throughout Clancy's medical records, despite persistent questioning from the defense. The trial is ongoing at the Plymouth Superior Court. Clancy was accused of strangling her three children.
