Protesters Attack ICE Vehicle in Oregon; Agents Deploy Tear Gas
Video captures demonstrators surrounding and striking a federal vehicle while shouting profanities at agents.
Anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protesters confronted federal agents in Salem, Oregon, on Saturday, with video footage showing demonstrators attacking a vehicle and agents deploying crowd control measures.
The incident occurred in a parking lot where a group of protesters surrounded a black federal vehicle. One individual is seen wielding a baseball bat, which they used to strike the vehicle and knock off a sideview mirror. Other protesters yelled profanities and attempted to block the vehicle's path, with one clip appearing to show a protester grabbing an agent and throwing a punch before being sprayed with what is believed to be tear gas or mace.
Footage shared by journalist Katie Daviscourt depicted multiple individuals pursuing the vehicle as it attempted to maneuver through the lot. Horns could be heard blaring as protesters tried to encircle the agents.
ICE has not yet released an official comment regarding the incident.
