Protester Punched at Trump Rally, President Mocks Heckler's Weight
A confrontation at a Youngstown, Ohio rally saw a supporter strike a protester before the president commented on the individual's appearance.
A heckler wearing a "Release the Epstein Files" shirt was punched in the face by an apparent supporter of President Donald Trump during a rally in Youngstown, Ohio. Video of the incident showed a rallygoer shove the protester and strike her as the crowd chanted "USA!" The man also grabbed the woman by the hair and attempted to slam her face toward the ground.
Police intervened and broke up the fight, eventually escorting the woman out of the venue. Video showed the man who struck her remaining in the arena and exchanging high-fives with other attendees.
Trump appeared to notice the disruption and accused the protester of being paid to interrupt the rally, though he offered no evidence. He also commented on the protester's weight, stating, "He’s gotta go on a diet! He’s a fat guy. Wow. Wow. Gotta go on a diet fast. We all do." Trump also referred to the individual as a "very low-class protester."
The woman's shirt referenced calls for the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, the deceased sex predator. This incident occurred days after a similar confrontation at another Trump rally in San Antonio, Texas, where a man wearing a MAGA hat allegedly grabbed a heckler by the hair and pulled him to the ground.
