Pro Wrestler Dono Hefner Tackles Promotion for Upcoming Show, Calls Out JTG

Independent professional wrestler Dono Hefner is stepping into a new role as a promoter, organizing his own show titled 'Too Over To Care,' scheduled for Washington D.C. on February 27, 2027. The 20-year-old wrestler, who bills himself as the "most OverAF independent professional wrestler," sees this venture as a personal challenge and an opportunity to offer a platform to others in the often politically charged wrestling world.

Hefner recently spoke about his ambitions, calling out former WWE star JTG, now known as Jay Tha Gawd, describing him as "soft" and asserting he could prove it. This promotional tactic is part of Hefner's strategy to draw attention to his event. He explained his motivation for starting his own promotion: "What made me want to start is that I like to challenge myself most of the time. I like to be under pressure," Hefner stated in an interview. "So, I figured like I'm already good at this wrestling stuff, right? Let's be honest here. So, I was like, ‘All right, you know what? Let's just take it up a notch.’ I'm going to run my own show and give everybody an opportunity that they don't get most of the time in the wrestling world because there's a lot of politics."

One of the hurdles Hefner has encountered in booking the show is having to decline opportunities for certain wrestlers. "Telling certain people no because you can't put you know everyone on a card," he said. "That's really it because once a new show comes around everybody wants to be on it. Everybody wants to be a part of it. Other than that, everything's been pretty smooth so far at least because we still have a lot of time to go."

Scheduled to appear on the card are the tag team Top Team, consisting of Jay Lucas and Terry Yaki, and Sexy & Blessed, featuring Chulo Montana and Ykies. Hefner also expressed his dream match opponent: independent legend Joey Janela. "My dream match on the indies would be against Joey Janela," he said. "I feel like me and Joey could really do something and he could really put me over. You know what I mean? Like I'd get a lot of people talking about me after that match."
