Pro Cricketer Recovers From Viral Bike Crash to Play Championship Game

A professional cricketer who was filmed smashing through a taxi's rear window with his head after a collision on a Lime Bike has recovered remarkably and played in a significant championship match weeks later. The incident, which occurred on London's Euston Road, left cricketer Luke Hollman with a laceration on his forehead.
The viral clip shows one cyclist dismounting abruptly, causing a black cab to stop suddenly. A second cyclist, Hollman, then collides with the taxi's rear window. He was able to pick himself up and move to the pavement, though bystanders expressed shock at the severity of the impact.
Despite the dramatic crash, which resulted in a five-inch laceration requiring 35 stitches and leaving part of his skull exposed, Hollman's recovery was swift. He was diagnosed with a concussion, which ruled him out of immediate play, but a CT scan confirmed no skull fracture.
Less than four weeks after the accident, Hollman was a key player for Middlesex in their MetroBank One Day Cup semi-final victory against Durham. He scored 83 not out and took wickets, contributing significantly to his team's win. The match was a crucial step towards the One Day Cup final, Middlesex's first since 1990.
Hollman had been cycling to meet friends on a day off when the accident occurred. He initially underestimated the injury, believing he would only be slightly delayed. After realizing the extent of the bleeding, he received first aid from members of the public. Even while in the hospital, he inquired about his availability for a match scheduled for two days later.
He returned to training 17 days after the incident, with Middlesex keeping the details of his absence private. Hollman, who previously used Lime Bikes without a helmet, now emphasizes the importance of head protection and advises others to do the same.
The cricketer was set to compete in the One Day Cup final against Leicestershire on Sunday, aiming to help his team secure a victory in the championship match.
