A prisoner identified as Stephen Grzyb, 22, escaped from an escort van on Saturday morning while being transported to Liverpool Magistrates' Court. Grzyb was reportedly en route to face burglary charges.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:00 BST as the GEOAmey transport van arrived outside the court building. Grzyb managed to flee the van and ran down Red Cross Street, heading towards the Strand. Merseyside Police are leading the manhunt and have issued a warning to the public against assisting the escaped prisoner, stating that anyone found helping him could face legal consequences.
Grzyb was in custody at Belle Vale custody suite before the transport to court. The police emphasized that association with Grzyb in his current status is not advisable.
