Princess of Wales Joins Prince William in Belfast for Homelessness Initiative

The Princess of Wales, Catherine, joined her husband, Prince William, for an official visit to Northern Ireland on Friday, engaging in activities related to the Prince's Homewards initiative.

The royal couple arrived at a church on Ormeau Road in South Belfast, which is being transformed into a community center. They were met with cheers from the public as they arrived for the engagement.

For the occasion, Catherine wore an ivory ruffled blouse from Daisy Knatchbull's label paired with a green checked skirt by Emilia Wickstead. She completed the ensemble with a long black coat from Catherine Walker, gold Cartier earrings, black Gianvito Rossi pumps, and a jade Mulberry bag. Her hair was styled in a half-up, half-down arrangement.

Prince William wore a navy suit. The couple arrived under a security detail, a common practice for royal visits to Northern Ireland due to security protocols.

Their visit focused on the Homewards initiative, Prince William's project aimed at eradicating homelessness. In Belfast, the initiative is piloting a scheme that supports young people into employment, helping them build confidence and sustain their new roles. The success of this pilot has led to its expansion to other Homewards locations and garnered commitments from major UK companies.

During their visit, William and Catherine met with organizations and young people involved in the project. They learned about the roles employers, public services, and community organizations play in creating an environment where individuals can thrive.

The Homewards program, a five-year initiative, aims to make homelessness rare, brief, and unrepeated. The Prince and Princess of Wales have participated in several public engagements recently, including attending the charity premiere of 'Digger' with Tom Cruise and supporting Sir Kevin Sinfield's fundraising efforts for motor neurone disease research.
