Princess Kate's Handbag Choice Boosts Mulberry Sales

Mulberry handbags are experiencing a surge in popularity, with sales rising 18% in the last six months, partly attributed to appearances by Catherine, Princess of Wales. In the UK alone, sales increased by 10%, with the new Stevie bag contributing to this growth. Across the Atlantic, Mulberry's handbag sales saw a 28% increase during the same period.

Princess Kate has been a notable proponent of the British brand, frequently seen with various Mulberry styles. Last week, she carried the Mulberry Amberley Satchel during a royal visit to Belfast, a bag she had previously used during a royal tour in Boston in 2022. Her collection spans different styles, including chain crossbody bags and larger tote bags. She has been photographed with the Amberley Satchel in white at Wimbledon and a bright pink Mulberry hobo bag in 2008.

Other members of the royal family have also been seen with Mulberry bags. Zara Tindall was photographed with the Amberley clutch at Royal Ascot in 2025 and 2026.

More recently, the Princess wore Mulberry's Amberley Satchel in green leather for her visit to Belfast, pairing it with an Emilia Wickstead tartan maxi skirt and a ruffled silk blouse. The choice of green was seen as a nod to Ireland. For a royal visit to Pontypridd in South Wales in 2025, Kate carried the Mulberry Bayswater Tote, coordinating it with a red Alexander McQueen coat and Gianvito Rossi boots.

Earlier this year, the Princess opted for Mulberry's Small Amberley Crossbody bag in black when welcoming the President of Bola to the UK. She paired this with a Tolu Coker double-breasted blazer coat, a Jane Taylor hat, and teardrop earrings, reportedly a tribute to her late mother-in-law, Diana. The accompanying Boss shoes she wore have since been discontinued.
