Princess Cruises Increases Package Prices, Alters Wi-Fi Plans

Princess Cruises will increase prices for its Plus and Premier packages by $5 per person, per day, effective October 13. The cruise line is also modifying its Wi-Fi offerings, moves that have prompted some travelers to reconsider their vacation plans.

The price adjustments will affect all sailings departing on or after October 13. The Princess Plus package will increase to $70 per day, and the Princess Premier package will rise to $105 per day. For the Sun Princess and Star Princess vessels, these prices will be $75 and $110 daily, respectively.

A spokesperson for Princess Cruises stated that the company periodically reviews package pricing to align with operational changes while continuing to offer guests value and convenience. "We believe both packages offer strong value, providing guests with a convenient way to bundle popular amenities," the company said in a statement. The statement also noted that the crew appreciation component of these packages is directed to the crew members providing service.

The Princess Plus package includes up to 15 alcoholic beverages per day (capped at $15 each), four casual dining meals, complimentary room service, prepaid gratuities, and Wi-Fi for one device per traveler. The Premier package expands these benefits to unlimited drinks valued up to $20 each, unrestricted casual and specialty dining, and Wi-Fi access for four devices. Premier guests also receive up to $300 per person in shore excursion credits.

Princess Cruises is also restructuring its standalone internet plans. The four-device Wi-Fi tier is being retired and replaced by a two-device option priced at $39.99 per day. Single-device internet access purchased onboard will now cost $39.99 per day for a 24-hour period, or $33.99 per day if booked for the entire sailing.

These changes have drawn reactions from some cruise passengers on social media. Comments expressed concerns about the increasing costs and suggested that individual à la carte pricing for services might also rise. Some travelers indicated that the price increase could make the Plus package less appealing, particularly for those who do not utilize all the included amenities.

In addition to the package price changes, Princess Cruises recently announced stricter booking policies, including higher deposits and earlier final payment deadlines for sailings departing in 2027 and beyond. These modifications aim to bring consistency to the booking process and align with industry practices.
