Catherine, the Princess of Wales, visited The Royal Marsden hospital in London on Friday to see firsthand how funds raised from her charity mountain climb are being utilized.
During her visit, the princess met with medical staff and spoke with patients undergoing treatment for various forms of cancer, including breast cancer, head and neck cancer, and a brain tumor. The Royal Marsden is a leading cancer treatment and research institution.
The funds generated by Catherine's climb are designated for The Centre for Holistic Wellbeing and Recovery. This center aims to provide cancer patients with support that extends beyond physical treatment, focusing on emotional, spiritual, and social wellbeing. Catherine, who announced in January 2025 that she was in remission from cancer, has frequently discussed how her personal experience has fostered a sense of empathy and a desire to assist others navigating similar challenges.
She previously stated during a hospital visit last year that cancer diagnosis and treatment are life-changing experiences for both patients and their families. Her engagement with the hospital underscores her commitment to improving cancer care and support services.
The visit to The Royal Marsden follows a joint engagement with her husband, Prince William, on Thursday, where they supported a suicide prevention project launch in Liverpool.
