Prince William is reportedly considering appearing in a television program about his mother, Princess Diana, potentially creating a competitive tribute as his brother, Prince Harry, is also planning a documentary to mark the 30th anniversary of her death next year.
A source close to William stated that the Prince of Wales has been approached with numerous offers and is carefully considering his options. This comes as Prince Harry is understood to have discussed a number of potential projects to honor Diana's legacy, though nothing has been finalized.
In 2017, for the 20th anniversary of their mother's death, both brothers participated in the BBC documentary "Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy." However, a joint project is unlikely for the upcoming milestone due to the rift between the siblings. The estrangement has been exacerbated by public comments made by Harry and his wife, Meghan, in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and in Harry's memoir "Spare."
Harry has reportedly reached out to Diana's friends and family to gauge their interest in participating in a commemorative film. His documentary could be produced by Archewell Productions, his and Meghan's company, which has an existing deal with Netflix. A spokesperson for Kensington Palace declined to comment on how Prince William might mark the anniversary.
