Prince William and Kate Middleton met secretly with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in London in May, ahead of the couple's wedding. Kelce alluded to the meeting on a recent episode of his podcast, "New Heights," with his brother Jason.
"I got the chance to see you not too long ago," Kelce told Prince William on the podcast. "[I] invited you on the show because we were talking a little Aston Villa soccer, some excitement about the World Cup."
Details of the meeting were not fully disclosed by Kelce. Representatives for Prince William and Middleton did not immediately respond to requests for comment. This gathering is believed to have been Middleton's first time meeting Kelce and Swift.
Prince William previously met Swift in 2013 at a charity gala, where they appeared on stage with Jon Bon Jovi. Swift later took backstage photos with Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte during the Eras Tour. Kelce also met Prince William at a London concert in June 2024, describing the royal children as a "delight."
During the podcast, Kelce recalled his nervousness about meeting the royal family. "Me and Jason [Kelce] joke about it all the time. We were so nervous to meet you guys and the royal family. And Jason has this running joke where he didn’t know what to do with his beer," he said.
While Prince William and Middleton did not attend Swift and Kelce's wedding at Madison Square Garden, the Prince of Wales had previously hinted at a potential invitation. In a May radio interview, he responded to questions about attending the event with "no comment," but added, "I’m hoping, and I’m sure there might be an invitation around, but we’ll see."
