Prince William Hosts Cricket Match on The Mall for Earthshot Prize Event

Prince William transformed The Mall in London into a makeshift cricket pitch for a special Earthshot Prize event, bringing together cricketing stars from the United Kingdom and India.

The informal game featured notable figures such as West Indies legend Brian Lara, former Indian captains Ajinkya Rahane and Sourav Ganguly, England Test Captain Joe Root, Harry Brook, Danni Wyatt Hodge, and Nat Sciver-Brunt. The event aimed to celebrate the strong ties between the UK and India and their shared passion for cricket, in anticipation of the Earthshot Prize's annual summit and awards ceremony to be held in Mumbai in November.

The gathering also included members of the team from Backyard Cricket, an organization known for making the sport accessible and entertaining, and personalities from Tailenders, such as Greg James, Sir Jimmy Anderson, and Issy Wong.

India holds a significant number of Earthshot Prize Winners and Finalists, more than any other country, making Mumbai a fitting location for the upcoming awards.

Founded by Prince William, The Earthshot Prize is the world’s most prestigious environmental award designed to identify, back and celebrate groundbreaking leadership in environmental action.
