Prince William, also known as the Duke of Rothesay in Scotland, participated in furnishing homes for his Homewards initiative in Aberdeen. The visit marked three years of the campaign, which aims to end homelessness in the United Kingdom.

During his visit to Langstane Housing Association, a partner in the Homewards project, Prince William helped staff assemble welcome packs and move household goods for new tenants. The initiative's Aberdeen Innovative Housing Project (IHP) focuses on supporting single adults and young people facing homelessness due to relationship breakdowns. This project is one of six Homewards sites across the UK, with others located in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Lambeth, Newport, Northern Ireland, and Sheffield.

Prince William carried an IKEA chair up three flights of stairs to a top-floor flat before its new occupant arrived. He also spoke with a tenant named Erin, who expressed her gratitude for the support, stating, "I feel safe and secure and like I know I have somewhere to go that’s my own and it’s the way I want it." Helen Gauld, CEO of Langstane Housing Association, described the prince's visit as "very gratifying" for the staff, noting his "very interested" demeanor when speaking with tenants.

Earlier in the visit, Prince William made a lighthearted remark about air fryers after mishearing the CEO mention them. He joined staff in preparing household items and later chatted with other tenants before departing.
