Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Prince and Princess of Wales, intend to continue to ignore Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to a friend of the couple.

Despite significant public and media pressure for the brothers and their wives to reconcile, William and Catherine are reportedly determined to maintain their distance from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. This stance comes six years after Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties and moved to North America.

Rumors have circulated about the Sussexes' potential return to Britain, with speculation mounting about their next steps. While some believe the estrangement cannot persist indefinitely, with commentator Richard Kay suggesting a private meeting is necessary to establish an "official line" even if it's just for public appearances, those close to William and Catherine maintain the couple's position will not change.

"It makes no difference if Harry and Meghan are in Oxfordshire, California or Timbuktu," a friend of William and Catherine told Richard Eden, diary editor. "William and Catherine will continue their lives of public service. They intend to lead by example."

This approach contrasts with calls for reconciliation, particularly following Harry and Meghan's public criticisms of the Royal Family, including in their Oprah Winfrey interview, Netflix series, and Harry's memoir "Spare."

A Kensington Palace spokesman declined to comment on the matter.

If Harry and Meghan thought Los Angeles was gossip central, wait until they have spent a few weeks among the country bumpkins of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.
