Prince Harry has formally accepted an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace during a visit to London this week, his spokesperson confirmed.
The Duke of Sussex will be in the UK to prepare for the Invictus Games, scheduled to take place in Birmingham next year, and to attend charity events.
It is understood that Harry's wife, Meghan, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, will not accompany him to London. This decision follows confirmation that the family will not be provided with taxpayer-funded police security for the trip.
However, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet may join Prince Harry in Birmingham later in the week to promote the Invictus Games.
It remains unclear if Prince Harry will meet with his father, King Charles, during the revised schedule. The King has not seen his grandchildren, aged seven and five, in person for four years.
