Prince Harry Shares

Prince Harry has shared some of the "British things" he and Meghan Markle have been doing with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, since their return to the United Kingdom. Speaking at the WellChild Awards on Monday, the Duke of Sussex told Hello! magazine that the family has enjoyed "lots of walks," which he described as the "most British thing."

He also noted that Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, have developed a taste for Marmite on crumpets. Harry mentioned that this was a significant change, as the children previously disapproved of Marmite when the family lived in Montecito, California. "Now [that] we are in the UK, that is kind of water under the bridge," Harry said, adding that his children "do, very much, like it."

In contrast, Harry joked that introducing beans on toast to his children years ago did not go over well. He did not provide further details about the family's recent relocation.

This event marked Harry's third official engagement in the UK since his return in August, following the Invictus Spirit Gala Dinner & Awards and the launch of the INSPIRE education program. He has attended these events without Markle.

Markle has been seen in the Cotswolds, an area where the couple had reportedly been house hunting. She was first spotted at the members-only retreat Soho Farmhouse on September 4th. On Monday, she was photographed at The Three Horseshoes pub near Burford, Oxfordshire, with Ellen DeGeneres.

The couple, who left their royal roles in 2020, have experienced a challenging period since arriving back in the UK last month. Markle's personal mobile number was leaked in a school WhatsApp group, and Archie and Lilibet were temporarily removed from their prep school due to security concerns. Harry has since confirmed that the children have returned to school.

During his interview on Monday, Harry alluded to the children having "the Monday blues," a feeling he associated with his own Sundays before attending boarding school. He mentioned that he shared stories about the WellChild Awards with Archie and Lilibet, which sparked their curiosity and led to many questions.

While the specific reasons for their move back to the UK have not been fully detailed by Harry, reports suggest he wished to be closer to his father, King Charles III. Previously, Harry had discussed with singer Joss Stone the positive aspects of UK schools and the importance of community for children.
