Prince Harry has humorously described his occupation as a 'full-time dad' and 'Prince of England' in a podcast episode that aired shortly before his reunion with King Charles.
During an appearance on the "Joe Marler Will See You Now" podcast, Harry was asked by former England rugby star Joe Marler about his job. He responded, "Full-time dad, uh, British Army veteran, Prince of England."
In a segment that appeared to be lighthearted, Harry also joked about his title as Duke of Sussex, adopting an exaggerated upper-class accent. He had previously stated his full name as "Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex."
The podcast appearance came shortly before Harry met with his father, King Charles, and stepmother, Queen Camilla, at their Highgrove residence. Friends reported that Harry was "buoyed, very happy and really energised" following the meeting. The reunion also marked the first time King Charles had met his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, in four years. Meghan Markle and the children reportedly joined the King and Queen for about an hour.
Friends of the Duke of Sussex indicated that he was "very happy" his wife and children were able to spend time with his father. The family's visit to the UK coincided with Harry's privacy court case against the Daily Mail, in which he suffered a significant defeat.
In the podcast, Harry also discussed how he shows affection to his children, mirroring his late mother Princess Diana. He stated, "if a day is hard, one thing I will do is always squeeze my kids that extra, extra tight."
When asked about lighter topics, Harry admitted his favorite "trashy" television show was "Love Island" and offered his prediction for England's World Cup chances, saying, "I think it's coming home, not going to be easy – never is."
On more serious matters, Harry spoke about coping with trauma, emphasizing the importance of exercise, sport, and routine. "Boxing, another thing that I really enjoy, just to let the aggression out, get a sweat on," he said.
