Prince Harry Discusses Return to UK and Children's Well-being
The Duke of Sussex expressed satisfaction at being back in Britain after six years, noting his children are happy in school.
Prince Harry has stated that it is "great" to be back in the United Kingdom after a six-year absence, during which he and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have been living in the United States. Meghan has largely remained out of the public eye since their return, making few public appearances.
Harry, however, has been active with several public engagements related to his Invictus Games initiative. Last week, he visited a school in Birmingham to launch an education program inspired by the Games. During the visit, he participated in activities such as playing pickleball with pupils and engaging in a science lesson focused on prosthetic design.
The Invictus Games are scheduled to take place in Birmingham from July 10 to 17 of the following year. The event is expected to feature 550 wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans from 25 nations competing in 12 adaptive sports.
Previously, Harry spoke to CTV after completing a skydive in Toronto. This jump was performed to honor a promise made to a 102-year-old Second World War veteran and to raise awareness for military charities.
When asked about the reasons for the family's return to the UK, Harry cited "lots of reasons" but did not provide further details. The couple had reportedly been surprised by a letter authorized by King Charles III, which reiterated that they are private citizens and outlined guidelines for senior government and military figures on how they should be treated.
Harry and King Charles have experienced a strained relationship since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior working royals and relocated to the U.S. The Sussexes are currently awaiting a decision on whether they will receive taxpayer-funded security in the UK. The committee responsible for royal and VIP security, known as Ravec, is set to re-evaluate the family's level of police protection, considering their current status as full-time residents rather than visitors.
Prince Harry also commented on his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, stating that they are "happy in school" following their return to the UK a month prior.
