Prince Harry has confirmed his first official engagements in the United Kingdom since his return to the country with his family in August. The Duke of Sussex is scheduled to attend the Invictus Spirit Awards on September 17, followed by the launch of the Invictus education program, INSPIRE.
He will also attend the WellChild Awards in London on September 21. Harry, who has been patron of the charity since 2007, released a statement expressing his anticipation for the event. "It is always a privilege to be part of the WellChild Awards and to meet the extraordinary children, young people, families and professionals whose courage and determination inspire us all," he stated. "This year feels particularly special as we celebrate 20 years of the WellChild Nurse program, two decades of supporting thousands of children and families and helping them to live more of their lives at home."
He added, "These awards are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate that impact, but above all to celebrate the incredible people at the heart of it. Their stories are a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through compassion, connection and community."
Additionally, Prince Harry is slated to participate in the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting in New York on September 22 and 23.
The Duke and his wife, Meghan Markle, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, returned to the UK in August. King Charles III subsequently issued a statement characterizing Harry and Meghan as "private citizens with commercial and charitable interests," a designation reportedly met with frustration by the couple, who allegedly would have preferred to be labeled "public figures."
