Prince Harry Confirms Children Are Back in School Amid UK Visit

Prince Harry has confirmed that his children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, are now attending school in the United Kingdom. This update comes after the family had to withdraw the children from their initial school placement only two days into the term due to security concerns.

"We're getting stuck into the work. Kids are in school. We're happy," Harry told Hello! magazine at the Invictus Spirit Gala Dinner & Awards in London on Thursday. He described the family's recent weeks in the UK as "eventful."

Harry, 42, attended the gala without his wife, Meghan Markle. He expressed his pleasure at being back on British soil and looking forward to the upcoming Invictus Games in Birmingham.

Previously, Page Six reported that the Sussexes had removed their children from a preparatory school costing approximately $35,000 per year after just two days. The decision was reportedly made due to security challenges, specifically heavy traffic impacting their security team's ability to manage school drop-offs and pick-ups.

"The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements," a representative for the couple stated. An insider added that while security checks had been completed at the school prior to the term's start, the school run itself had not been tested.

Further security issues arose for the family when Meghan Markle's personal mobile number was reportedly leaked after she joined a WhatsApp group for parents at their new school. The number was allegedly shared multiple times after being screenshotted from the group chat.

This incident followed reports that Markle had been granted her first government-backed security review. Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to undergo an official risk assessment, and they have been asked by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) to provide details of their daily routines.

At the Invictus Spirit Gala, Harry reflected on the event, which he described as "many weeks, months and years in the making." He shared his happiness at raising over €1.7 million (approximately $1.95 million) for his Invictus organization at the event, which brought together Invictus competitors, their families, and supporters.

"So to have a room full of 340 people and Invictus competitors from all around the world and their families, we did it," Harry said. "We got to tell some incredible stories and celebrate some amazing heroes. So yeah, I feel really happy that everyone came out and showed their support."

The gala marked Prince Harry's first public appearance since returning to the UK on August 26. The Sussex family relocated to the UK six years after stepping down as senior royals and moving to Montecito, California. Reports suggested Harry's return was partly to be closer to his father, King Charles III, who is undergoing cancer treatment.

However, shortly after their arrival, King Charles released a statement labeling the couple as "private citizens with commercial and charitable interests," a designation the Sussexes reportedly took issue with, considering themselves "public figures."

Following this, Uganda withdrew from the Invictus Games, a decision that Harry allegedly attributed to his father's statement.
