Prince Harry Attends Invictus Event Amidst Memoir Revelations

Prince Harry made his first public appearance in Britain since his return to attend the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards in London. The Duke of Sussex arrived at the event, held at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, to celebrate the resilience and commitment of individuals within the Invictus community.

His appearance coincided with the publication of the first excerpts from his uncle Earl Spencer's memoir, "Swan Song: Diana, My Sister." The memoir includes claims that the late King Charles told Earl Spencer, "We'll forget her [Diana] soon enough," in the days following Princess Diana's death. A source close to Prince Harry indicated he was aware of the memoir but had not read it.

The Invictus Spirit Awards honor individuals and organizations embodying the spirit of the Invictus Movement. Five prizes were presented, recognizing resilience, service, and an unconquered spirit.

Earlier in the day, Prince Harry visited Imperial College London for an event with Save The Children, focusing on support for children injured in conflict. He viewed specialized prosthetics for young amputees and participated in a panel discussion. "Children should not be exposed to conflict. They should not be losing limbs to blast," Prince Harry stated. "But whilst children continue to suffer, I will keep working to ensure they can live life to the full."

Save The Children, Imperial College London, and Archewell Philanthropies are collaborating on a program to provide comprehensive support, including prosthetics and rehabilitation, for child amputees.

Concurrently, other members of the Royal Family were engaged in public duties. King Charles addressed AI developers at Dumfries House, while Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, visited the Isle of Bute. The Princess Royal attended the opening of a new History Centre at the German Military Cemetery in Staffordshire.
