Prince Andrew's Former Bentley Listed for Sale at Significant Discount

A Bentley Flying Spur, once owned by Prince Andrew and bearing the personalized license plate "DOY," has been put up for sale by a dealership in Doncaster, England, at a price significantly reduced from its original valuation. The vehicle, acquired by the former Duke of York in 2021, is now listed for £124,975, a steep drop from its previous valuation of £220,000.

The customized number plate, which stood for "Duke of York," was removed from the car following the stripping of Prince Andrew's royal titles. This action came in the wake of his association with convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The Bentley is being offered by Portland Autos, a Doncaster-based dealership. The online listing describes the car as an "Ex Royal Family Car!" It has accumulated 7,029 miles and is noted for its traditionally specified features, including 22-inch polished alloy wheels, LED welcome lamps, massage and ventilated front and rear seats, a cream leather and walnut interior, a sunroof, and a Breitling clock.

Clive Watson, owner of Portland Autos, stated that the car was not purchased directly from the royal household but through a third party. He suggested that the car's royal provenance could aid in its sale, indicating it would have been meticulously cared for. Watson described the Bentley as being in "flawless condition."

Prince Andrew took delivery of the Bentley in 2021. It was initially blue before being repainted in racing green. He was seen driving the car to the funeral of his father, Prince Philip, in April 2021, and to his granddaughter Sienna's christening in April of the following year. The car was reportedly sold to a specialist Bentley dealership in either 2024 or 2025.

This is not the first time a vehicle associated with Prince Andrew has featured personalized "DOY" plates. DVLA records indicate that two license plates previously used by the former Duke with these initials are no longer registered. He has also been seen driving Range Rovers with similar personalized plates.

Following renewed allegations and his association with Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew's royal titles were removed by King Charles III. The palace announced that Prince Andrew would no longer be styled as the Duke of York and would leave Royal Lodge. He has since been known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. He is also reported to be challenging the legality of police search warrants executed on his properties earlier this year, alleging that personal items were seized.
