Pride of Britain Awards Honor Everyday Heroes Amidst Celebrity Glitz
The annual ceremony recognized individuals for bravery, achievement, and fundraising, with a star-studded guest list in attendance.
The Pride of Britain Awards celebrated acts of courage and kindness on Monday evening at London's Grosvenor House Hotel. The event, attended by numerous celebrities, highlighted the achievements of ordinary people who have made extraordinary contributions.
Andrew Franks received the Outstanding Bravery Award for his actions during a terror attack at a Manchester synagogue in 2025. Franks, a volunteer security guard, intervened, providing crucial time for the congregation to barricade themselves.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Asif Hasan, a heart surgeon recognized for saving hundreds of critically ill children. Brandon Hulcoop, a young blind entrepreneur who founded a business creating accessible products for the visually impaired, was honored with the King's Trust Young Achiever award.
Elaine Oakey received the P&O Cruises Inspiration Award for her decade-long work transforming the lives of young amputees through football, a mission inspired by her son Jamie. The Good Morning Britain Young Fundraiser of the Year Award went to five-year-old Gregor Corse, who raised £80,000 for charity through walking challenges, despite having a neurological condition.
Hosts Carol Vorderman and Ashley Banjo both expressed their admiration for the winners. Vorderman stated, "No matter how many years I've been lucky enough to do it, I'm still completely humbled by our winners and their extraordinary stories." Banjo added, "Every year I'm so inspired by our winners, who show incredible courage, kindness and strength, often at the toughest moments of their lives."
Celebrities pictured leaving the event included Pete Wicks and Olivia Attwood, Princess and Junior Andre, and several stars from Strictly Come Dancing, such as Dani Dyer, Kai Widdrington, and Amy Dowden.
Kai Widdrington provided an update on his Strictly partner Delta Goodrem, noting her return to training after a rib injury, and mentioned the new hosting team of Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe, and Josh Widdicombe were integrating well.
