Pride of Britain Awards 2026 Celebrates National Heroes Amidst Star-Studded Red Carpet

The Grosvenor House Hotel in London was aglow with glamour Monday night for the 2026 Pride of Britain Awards, an annual ceremony dedicated to celebrating the nation's unsung heroes. Host Carol Vorderman, 65, graced the red carpet in a glittering black off-the-shoulder gown, complemented by a new darker hair color. She was joined by co-host Ashley Banjo, 38, a member of the Diversity dance troupe, who was returning for his third year presenting the event.

The awards ceremony, which recognizes individuals for extraordinary acts of courage, kindness, and dedication, saw a host of celebrities in attendance, including Helen Flanagan, Charlotte Crosby, and Olivia Attwood, all showcasing stylish red carpet looks. The event highlights the achievements of ordinary people who have made significant contributions to their communities and charities.

Among the honorees was Andrew Franks, recipient of the Outstanding Bravery award for his actions as a volunteer security guard during a 2025 terrorist attack at a Manchester synagogue. Franks' intervention provided crucial time for the congregation to secure themselves. The Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Asif Hasan, a heart surgeon celebrated for saving hundreds of critically ill children. The King's Trust Young Achiever award went to Brandon Hulcoorp, a visually impaired young man who established a business to create accessible products for the blind. Elaine Oakey received the P&O Cruises Inspiration Award for her decade-long work transforming the lives of young amputees through football, inspired by her son Jamie.

Gregor Corse, a five-year-old boy with a neurological condition, was honored with the Good Morning Britain Young Fundraiser of the Year award for raising £80,000 for charity through walking challenges. Corse expressed joy in his fundraising efforts and the supportive messages he received.

Vorderman remarked on the privilege of hosting the awards, stating, "No matter how many years I've been lucky enough to do it, I'm still completely humbled by our winners and their extraordinary stories." She emphasized that the night belongs to the winners, who exhibit incredible courage, kindness, and determination.

Banjo echoed these sentiments, adding, "Every year I'm so inspired by our winners, who show incredible courage, kindness and strength, often at the toughest moments of their lives." He highlighted the privilege of celebrating their stories and giving them the recognition they deserve.

The Pride of Britain Awards, an event that combines celebrity glamour with heartfelt recognition, will be televised on Thursday at 8 p.m. The winners were selected from public nominations by a dedicated judging panel, ensuring that those honored are true representatives of everyday heroism.
