Presley Gerber's Final Hours Documented in Sober House Video
Footage emerged showing Cindy Crawford's son appearing under the influence hours before his death at 27.
Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, documented his final hours in a video taken at the Resolutions Living sober house the evening before he died of an apparent overdose. The video, obtained by TMZ, shows Gerber giving a solo tour of the Santa Monica facility, where he had checked in the night prior.
In the clip, taken around 10 p.m. on a Saturday, Gerber appeared visibly under the influence with glazed eyes. He panned the camera around a bedroom and various areas of the residence, with no other individuals visible. The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Crawford, Gerber, and Resolutions Living for comment but has not yet received a response.
Sources close to the situation told TMZ that Gerber had reportedly "got high" on Saturday afternoon and expressed concern about losing control. His sober coach then contacted the sober living facility, indicating Gerber was under the influence and requesting he be admitted. An admissions officer reportedly agreed to take him in.
The sober coach had allegedly planned to transfer Gerber to a rehabilitation facility the following Monday, seeking the sober living home as a temporary weekend holding place. Insiders further claimed that Gerber continued to use drugs within the sober home, possibly viewing the weekend as a final opportunity before entering formal rehab.
Gerber was discovered deceased the next morning, having gone into cardiac arrest. Sources connected to Resolutions Living reportedly told TMZ that the admissions officer who admitted Gerber has since been fired. According to TMZ, Gerber was staying in a separate house on the grounds of the facility and had roommates.
The Resolutions Living website describes the luxury property as offering "structure, recreational opportunities, life skills, vocational coaching, accountability, and community" to support individuals in recovery from addiction and mental health disorders. The facility boasts spacious living quarters, an in-home movie theater, a fitness gym, chef-prepared meals, and 24-hour on-site staff.
Gerber's remains were cremated days after his death, with his occupation listed as an entrepreneur in mental health. His parents are reportedly keeping his ashes at their residence. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the official cause of death, pending toxicology reports.
Gerber had been open about his decade-long struggle with drug addiction and mental health. In the past, he had undergone treatment at an ibogaine clinic in Mexico, a substance known for its potential to help with withdrawal symptoms. His parents and sister, Kaia Gerber, had expressed pride in his courage for pursuing such treatments.
In December, Gerber shared that he was taking medication for "night terrors" and "panic attacks" and discussed his struggles with anxiety and loss. He was signed to IMG Models and had appeared in campaigns for brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Calvin Klein. His death occurred weeks after his sister Kaia spoke to Vogue about the significant impact his struggles had on their family, stating it had "leveled everyone."
