Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, documented his final hours in a video taken at the Resolutions Living sober house on the evening before his death at age 27. He had checked into the Santa Monica facility the night before he was found unresponsive on September 20, after going into cardiac arrest.
In the footage obtained by TMZ, Gerber is seen giving a solo tour of the sober home, appearing visibly under the influence with glazed eyes. The video, taken around 10 p.m. on Saturday, shows him panning the camera around a bedroom and common areas of the residence. No other individuals were visible in the clip.
Sources close to the situation told TMZ that Gerber reportedly became concerned he was losing control after allegedly using drugs on Saturday afternoon. His sober coach contacted the facility to arrange for his admission, making it clear that Gerber was under the influence, according to sources with direct knowledge.
The facility's admissions officer reportedly agreed to admit him, with the sober coach intending to take Gerber to a rehabilitation facility the following Monday. Insiders claimed that Gerber continued to use drugs within the sober home, potentially viewing the weekend as a final opportunity before beginning formal rehabilitation.
Gerber was found deceased the following morning. Sources connected to Resolutions Living reportedly told TMZ that the admissions officer who admitted Gerber has since been fired. According to TMZ, Gerber was staying in a separate house on the grounds of the sober living facility and had roommates.
The Resolutions Living website describes its property as a luxury, three-story residence offering ocean and city views, aiming to provide structure, recreational opportunities, life skills, and accountability for individuals recovering from mental health and addiction disorders. The facility boasts spacious living quarters, an on-site fitness gym, chef-prepared meals, and 24-hour staff support.
Gerber's remains were cremated days after his death, according to a death certificate obtained by TMZ. His occupation was listed as an entrepreneur in mental health. His parents are reportedly keeping his ashes at their residence.
Gerber had been open about his decade-long struggles with drug addiction and mental health. The Santa Monica Police Department confirmed that emergency services were called to the rehab facility on Sunday morning, and Gerber was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives were investigating the death as a suspected overdose, with no immediate indication of foul play.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the official cause of death, pending the release of toxicology reports. Earlier this year, Gerber had shared details about undergoing an ibogaine treatment at a clinic in Mexico, a substance used to help with withdrawal symptoms. His parents and sister, Kaia Gerber, had expressed pride in his courage for undertaking the treatment.
In November, Gerber announced he was stepping back from social media to focus on his mental health. He later began sharing 'Mental Health Mondays' videos, discussing his struggles with 'night terrors' and 'panic attacks,' and the medication he was taking. He acknowledged fluctuations in his medication use due to recent losses.
His death comes weeks after his sister Kaia Gerber spoke to Vogue about the profound impact his struggles had on their family, describing it as having 'leveled everyone.' She praised his honesty and openness about his challenges, contrasting it with their parents' traditionally private approach to family matters.
