Presley Gerber Found in Rehab Facility Bedroom Where He Died

Presley Gerber was found in a bedroom within the Santa Monica, California, sober living facility where he died at the age of 27, according to a report by TMZ. A source close to the investigation informed the outlet that Gerber's body was discovered near the bed in the room on Sunday night.

Gerber was treated for a suspected overdose after going into cardiac arrest on the night of his death. An official cause of death has not yet been released.

He had checked into the rehab facility for treatment the same weekend he was pronounced dead. Sources indicated that Gerber was under the influence of a substance upon his arrival at the facility. Fentanyl has not yet emerged as a factor in the death investigation.

TMZ also reported that Gerber had been prescribed ketamine by a doctor, despite reportedly having a "regular problem" with the drug. He was reportedly accompanied by a 24/7 sober coach in the months leading up to his death, although it remains unclear if the coach was present at the facility when Gerber passed away.

Gerber, the only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, had been open about his struggles with substance abuse and mental health. He previously faced legal issues, including a 2018 DUI that resulted in a three-year probation period.

In November of the previous year, Gerber announced a hiatus from social media to focus on his mental health, stating his intention to return "stronger, clearer, more intentional than ever" and to assist others experiencing similar challenges. He had also promoted a "Mental Health Mondays" movement on his social media platforms to encourage open discussions about mental health.

In the weeks preceding his death, Gerber reportedly "seemed off" and "didn't seem like himself," according to sources. He is survived by his parents and his younger sister, Kaia Gerber, with whom he was reportedly very close.
