The Premier League has found Manchester City in breach of the vast majority of 115 charges brought against the club, potentially leading to severe sanctions including expulsion, relegation, or points deductions.
The club has indicated its intention to appeal the findings.
According to Rule W.51 of the Premier League handbook, a club found guilty of violating league regulations can face a range of punishments. These options include official warnings and fines of an unlimited amount, points deductions applied to the current or future seasons, and in severe cases, suspension or complete expulsion from the league.
Subclause W.51.7 of the regulations grants the commission broad discretionary power to impose any combination of these penalties or "such other penalty as it shall think fit."
