A 34-year-old pregnant woman was forced to deliver her baby early after a vicious dog attack left her with serious infections and fearing for her unborn child's survival. Renee Wilson was on her due date, June 25, when she was mauled by two loose dogs, identified as a Pitbull Terrier and an American Bully, in Tacoma, Washington.

Wilson was leaving her apartment complex with her Chihuahua when the dogs, which were not leashed or collared, approached her from a nearby alleyway. She attempted to ward them off with her keys and by speaking sharply, but the dogs attacked, knocking her to the ground and biting her thighs, ankles, and belly. CCTV footage captured Wilson attempting to shield her own dog from the attack before the animals turned on her.

She recalled the terror of the moment, thinking she would die and that her baby was in danger. Witnesses eventually intervened, with one neighbor using a broom to fend off a dog. Another bystander called 911, and Wilson's boyfriend was able to pry one of the dogs' jaws off her. Paramedics arrived and provided aid, with one of the dog owners appearing at the scene to apologize and retrieve their animal.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Wilson received stitches for a large leg gash and underwent X-rays. Doctors decided to induce labor due to puncture wounds on her abdomen that posed a risk of life-threatening infections. Her son, Armani Ross, was born safely the following morning. However, Wilson remains hospitalized, battling infections such as Cellulitis and MRSA. She is also undergoing physical therapy for her right leg, which she can no longer move properly.

Wilson expressed her trauma from the ordeal, stating she could have lost her life and that of her son. The attack has also impacted her ability to breastfeed. The dogs were impounded by Animal Control, and their owners face citations totaling up to $2,052 for violations including leash law infractions and an animal injuring a human.

Authorities are seeking humane euthanasia for the dogs due to the severity of Wilson's injuries. The owners have the right to appeal this decision. A GoFundMe campaign has been established by Wilson's family to assist with her mounting medical bills and recovery expenses as she cares for her newborn and three other children as a single mother.
