A pregnant woman, Angelina Stone, who was days away from her due date, was among nine people killed in a suspected murder-suicide incident in Erie, Pennsylvania. The victims included Stone, her two young children, and other relatives. The gunman, identified by relatives as Stone's father, is believed to have killed the family before dying from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Erie Police responded to reports of a shooting at a residence on Perry Road around 4:53 p.m. on Friday. Two women were found outside the home with gunshot wounds. Upon entering the house, officers discovered the remaining victims. Police Chief Rick Lorah described the scene as the "worst I have ever experienced."
Among the deceased were Stone's 5-year-old son, Isiah, and her daughter, Amari’anna, along with her unborn child, reportedly named Kyrie. Relatives identified the 45-year-old gunman, whose name has not yet been officially released by authorities.
"Angelina's father killed Angelina and her children in a murder-suicide, and now our family is facing the painful task of laying them to rest," wrote Aaliyah Williams, the aunt of Stone's daughter, in a GoFundMe post.
Family friend Lisa Simmers told Erie News Now that Stone was expecting her baby on October 14. "She was pregnant, about to have her baby in a couple days and she had a daughter that was almost 2 and her son Isiah and they were all just beautiful," Simmers said.
Amari’anna's father, Juicesiyah Alexander Ezekiel, expressed his grief, stating, "It was my baby, bro, and he just took her." He shared that he had moved away from Erie to escape a violent lifestyle after surviving a homicide in 2022, only to lose his daughter and her mother in the tragedy.
Authorities reported that eight of the nine victims were related, with the ninth being a family friend. Chief Lorah indicated that "mental health is at play here" but did not specify a motive for the killings. The investigation is ongoing.
