The Powerball jackpot has escalated to one of the ten largest prizes in the game's history, with the next drawing estimated to award $786 million. The cash value option for Wednesday's drawing is $341.6 million.

This marks the largest Powerball jackpot of the year and the biggest prize since a $1.817 billion jackpot was won in December. The most recent winner of a significant Powerball prize was Tracy Hartwick of Cabot, Arkansas, who won the second-largest jackpot ever on Christmas Eve 2025, securing $1.817 billion.

No ticket matched all the winning numbers in Monday's drawing, which featured the numbers 41-54-48-30-8, with a Powerball of 4. However, a $2 million ticket was sold in Wisconsin.

The Powerball jackpot was last won on May 2, 2026, when two tickets split a $20 million prize. The largest Powerball jackpot on record, $2.04 billion, was won by Edwin Castro in California on November 7, 2022.

Lottery officials state that the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are approximately 1 in 292.2 million. However, an expanded player base has contributed to faster prize growth and increased sales, particularly for larger jackpots.

Powerball tickets are priced at $2 and are sold in 45 U.S. states, as well as Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Washington, D.C. Players choose five white ball numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. Drawings are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Mega Millions drawings take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.
