Popular Streamer Removed From SoFi Stadium During Bills-Rams Game
Lacy, who has millions of followers on Twitch, was escorted out after security accused him of live-streaming the event.
Twitch streamer Lacy was removed from SoFi Stadium during the Bills vs. Rams game after security accused him of unauthorized live-streaming. The streamer's tense standoff with on-site security began in the second quarter of the "Monday Night Football" matchup.
Lacy was seated in a front-row area and interacting with his followers when a security guard approached him, appearing to question his camera usage. Lacy asserted that he was not showing the game and claimed he had been told he could show his face but not the field action. However, when he did not provide identification to the guard, he was ejected from his seat.
Multiple stadium security officers then confronted Lacy and his cameraman, escorting them to the lower level of the stadium. One officer informed Lacy that an NFL representative wished to speak with him.
Lacy then told an individual who appeared to be an NFL representative that a member of his public relations team had received approval from the league for him to stream, provided he did not film plays. After several minutes of discussion, Lacy was escorted out of the venue.
"They handled that great," Lacy stated on the stream as he was leaving. "Tell me beforehand that I’m allowed to show just my face at the game, then kick me out when I’m at the game."
Messages seeking comment from the Rams, the NFL, and Lacy were not immediately returned.
