Pope Leo's Doctors Confirm No Further Treatment Needed After Lung Cancer Surgery

Pope Leo's doctors have confirmed that no further treatment is necessary following his surgery for lung cancer, according to a Vatican statement released Tuesday. The pontiff underwent the procedure to address a pulmonary adenocarcinoma.

"The results confirmed that the tumor was a pulmonary adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localized," stated Dr. Luigi Carbone and Prof. Stefano Margaritora. "A subsequent oncological evaluation confirmed that no further treatment is necessary."

The Vatican has not provided further details on the Pope's recovery status.
