Police Seek Woman in Attempted Child Abduction at London Tube Station

British Transport Police are searching for a woman who attempted to abduct a seven-year-old girl from her father at West Ham Underground station.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday when the woman approached the child and her father. According to police, the woman told the girl she wanted to "grab" her and made attempts to hold her hand.

As the father and daughter attempted to move away, the woman falsely told bystanders that the girl's father was kidnapping her. She then fled the station.

Officers have released CCTV images of a woman they wish to speak with in connection with the attempted abduction. The images show the woman wearing dark clothing with a white collar and blonde hair. In one image, she is wearing a dark hat.

Detective Constable Chris Petty urged the public for assistance, stating, "We appreciate reports of this nature are concerning and I would like to reassure the public that we are doing all we can to identify the woman in question."
