Authorities are investigating a deliberate act of vandalism that resulted in the destruction of a popular Peppa Pig topiary sculpture. The hedge figure, a well-known local landmark near Newton Purcell, Oxfordshire, was discovered with its head sawn off sometime between August 13 and August 15.
Owners described the incident as distressing, noting that the topiary had taken years to grow and was maintained with significant effort and dedication. The head that was removed was not found at the scene, suggesting the culprits took it with them and used their own saw. Police believe this indicates a targeted act of vandalism.
Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dash-cam or CCTV footage to come forward. They are asking individuals with information to contact the force on 101 or report via their website, referencing case number 43260423720.
